DLNA - Digital Living Network Alliance

Our Selection of Media Streamers

DLNA stands for Digital Living Network Alliance. This is a set of standards that have been agreed upon by manufacturers to ensure that networked devices can play nicely together. The agreement started in 2003 and has grown as devices get more robust and customers demand more flexibility.

The DLNA logo means that a device will be present on a network, try to find other compatible devices, and will announce it’s capabilities to other devices, all automatically. The device may also ask your network control devices (most commonly, your router) to change it’s configuration. The goal is for devices to be able to configure themselves and work together to allow you to seamlessly play video, pictures and music to your TV, Receiver, or other DLNA device.
